The period after the Islamic Revolution in Iran is a new era in graphic design and various works in this field. During these years, graphic designers were influenced by the prevalence of computers and graphic software, the social atmosphere after the Islamic Revolution, as well as Western culture and graphic works, and they found a new perspective, as a result of which, the use of Iranian mythological animal motifs in graphic works has received less attention. The main goal of this research is to investigate the use of mythological animal motifs in works that have been selected for the Iranian Graphic Design Biennials, in terms of quantitative and qualitative studies. Question: How have the various mythological animal motifs identified in the works that have been selected for the Iranian Graphic Design Biennials (1987 to 2017) been represented and in what media have they been used? Works containing motifs of mythological animals were extracted from different periods of the Tehran Graphic Design Biennial and the Silver Cypress, and the results of their evaluation are as follows: In all the media examined, poster design was used the most and web design the least. Also, the dove motif was used the most and the winged cow motif was used the least in the works.Representation method: In each media, the technique of performing works has been mostly digital, the approach of using motifs in all media has been mostly symbolic (a different function from the role itself), the relationship of the role to the subject in all media has been indirect (profile), and the position of the role in all media has been of great importance. The research method is descriptive-analytical and the data collection method is library-field.
